Editorial Standards
The reader should leave knowing more, not merely having read more.
Who is behind the guides?
Studio800 Editorial is the publication's shared byline, not the name of a licensed contractor or a claim of professional certification. Studio800 is an independent knowledge site offering general educational information about the home—not an inspection or repair service.
Individual contributor biographies and specialist reviewer credits will appear only when real people, their relevant qualifications, and their permission to be named are confirmed. An article's update date does not, by itself, mean a professional has reviewed it.
What the review labels mean
A guide marked as being written is an unfinished draft. A guide awaiting a final fact-check may contain a full article, but is not yet approved for publication. Neither status is included in our search-engine sitemap. Publication requires a substantive guide and a completed fact-check—not just a change of label.
Accuracy
We rely on credible public sources and link to them. We don't invent statistics, prices, test results, or credentials. Guides awaiting a fact-check are labeled as drafts.
Independence
Recommendations are chosen on usefulness. Advertising and affiliate relationships never decide what we write. Ads, when shown, are clearly labeled.
Safety
For electrical, gas, structural, fire, or extensive water problems, we point readers to qualified professionals.
Product claims
We say plainly when we have not personally tested a product. We don't publish star ratings or endorsements we can't support.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the guide's date.
A useful correction includes the guide title, the statement in question, and a reliable source where available. See our contact page for the current contact arrangements. Our public contact address is still being set up.
